Instant Access Deposit Account

At INBS we understand and recognise that your daily needs and lifestyle can vary when it comes to your savings. In response to this, we have introduced our Instant Access Deposit Account. Our Instant Access Deposit Account allows you to save when you can afford to and make withdrawals at your convenience, while still earning an extremely competitive variable rate of interest on your savings.

Making a Lodgement to your Account
There are no restrictions on the frequency or on the amount of money that you can lodge into your Instant Access Deposit Account. The initial lodgement to open the account can be as little as €1.00 and there is no maximum balance.

Interest Rate
On any balance up to €20,000.00 lodged to the account, the Instant Access Deposit Account offers to pay an excellent variable BONUS RATE of 1.25% until the 31st December 2010. The standard variable rate of 2.00% will apply to any amounts over €20,000.01.

EXAMPLE 1
A balance of €10,000.00 would earn interest at the rate of 3.25%.
If a lodgement of €20,000.00 is made to the account and the balance stands at €30,000.00 it would earn interest as follows; €20,000.00 would earn the rate of 3.25%. The remaining balance of €10,000.00 would earn 2.00%.

 
EXAMPLE 2

A lodgement of €150,000.00 would earn interest as follows; €20,000.00 would earn the rate of 3.25%. The remaining balance of €130,000.00 would earn 2.00%.

How is interest paid?
With the Instant Access Deposit Account, interest is calculated on a daily basis and paid annually on the 31st of December.
Your interest can be:

• Automatically credited to your account on the 31st of December each year.
• Paid to another account with the Society.
• Paid into a bank account of your choice.

Can interest rates change?
Yes, interest rates can vary on the Instant Access Deposit Account. Any rate change will be published in two national newspapers in accordance with the rules of the Society.

Can I make Withdrawals?
Withdrawing your funds could not be easier. No notice is required so you can simply call into any of the Society’s branch or agent offices, present your account passbook and make your withdrawal. Restrictions will apply for cash amounts over €2,000.00 required on demand and a minimum amount of €5,000.00 is required for electronic transfers. This account does not offer the facility to set up standing orders or direct debits.

How do I open an account?
The Instant Access Deposit Account is available to residents of the Republic of Ireland and registered charities. The account can be opened either by an individual, or jointly, up to a maximum of four people. A customer may hold no more than two Instant Access Deposit Accounts, they can be either jointly or solely.

Simply complete the application form at your local branch or district office and supply the following proof of identity, in compliance with the provisions of the Criminal Justice Act 1994:

• Either a current passport or a current full driving licence, together with proof of current permanent address (e.g. a recent utility bill or bank statement).

AND

• Evidence of your PPS number to comply with Revenue Regulations. (e.g. P60, Notice of Tax Credits, Payslip, Tax Assessment etc).

Identification is required for new account holders and may be required for existing account holders of the Society. In the case of joint accounts, each account holder must produce suitable identification. We regret it is not possible to open an account unless the Society has established your identity.
